Do You Need a Skin Care Makeover?

Do you ever get tired of feeling like you need large amounts of makeup to look good enough that you’ll be confident to go out? Sadly, it’s all too easy to find yourself in this position. Sure, your skin might be okay, or it might even be rather good, but it’s not to the point of utter radiance where you can feel fully confident going out with no makeup at all. You may not have even considered that your skin could look even better if it’s already pretty good, and maybe you never thought of it as a problem, but Vine Vera’s here to tell you that if you’re used to mediocre to acceptable skin care, you can do better, and we’re going to show you how.

Mind you, we have nothing against makeup, but we want you to feel like your skin on its own is fabulous. Makeup should be the icing on the cake for when you feel like looking extra-stunning, not a necessity to get through the day. As such, we’ve detailed below just a things you can do to give yourself a skin care makeover today.

Ditch Your Too-Heavy Cleansers
Cleansing is important and necessary to skin care, but doing it harshly and stripping away all of your skin’s natural oils isn’t. Even oily skin types should avoid excessively drying, heavy-duty, or harsh cleansers that have the potential to completely remove crucial oils and moisture from your skin.

You’ll be happy to know that Vine Vera has a variety of cleansers across several of our collections that are carefully balanced and formulated to remove dirt, makeup, and excess grease, without over-drying your skin in the process.

Go Dye-Free, Fragrance-Free
Added fragrances are the most common trigger for irritation and allergies when it comes to skin care, and while less of a problem, added dyes are better done without as well.

Exfoliate, but Not Too Often
Whether you’re exfoliating too often and hurting your skin, or not doing it enough (or at all) and letting your skin get dry, ashy, and dull, not exfoliating with the proper frequency can impair your skin a fair amount, and keep it from reaching its full potential. Try to exfoliate about once a week, though depending your skins’ needs you could exfoliate once every other week if necessary.

Consider Masques and Night Creams for Deep Moisturization
Here’s where we get into the nitty gritty of a skin care makeover. While the above tips will help you “make over” your skin care routine itself, this tip will hep you make over your skin specifically in some intensive treatments sure to restore balance and order to your skin.

Masques are a great way to give your skin some intensive care in a short period of time. There are all kinds of masques you can buy, and you can also try things like honey masques (just spread organic honey on your face and leave it there for at least fifteen minutes) on for size. Different masques can help with different things, and you will find ones that moisturize, fight acne, exfoliate, and more.

You should also consider using oils and/or heavy creams for nighttime that will deeply moisturize and nourish your skin as you sleep. Because you won’t be going out and about or putting makeup over them, they can safely be a bit heavier, allowing or intense hydration and repair to occur overnight.
