There are some days where it can feel as though you’re happy and cheerful one minute and the next you practically want to flip a table over because you ran out of peanut butter. Schedule an appointment with your doctor and discuss your PMS symptoms and what vitamins could help you to feel better. Certain vitamins could be beneficial for your health especially when PMS starts up and can help ease your uncomfortable symptoms. Take the time to also discuss which pain reliever would be ideal for you to take for your particular symptoms.

Eat Feel-Good Foods
Foods like chips can be quite tempting when you’re PMSing, but they’re likely not going to help you feel much better especially when you factor in the salt content in tandem with bloating. Eat feel-good foods instead such as spinach, fish, and yogurt. Also, limit your alcohol and caffeine which could actually make you feel even worse.

Meditate
You may be surprised just how beneficial meditation can be when you’re PMSing. You’re stressed, feel awful, and just want to feel better and take your mind off things, and meditation could be key. The best part is that you can do it at home, but you could also do it elsewhere even if it’s in the bathroom stall at work. Focus on your breathing, get into the present moment, and take time to meditate throughout the day even if it’s a few minutes at a time.

Wear the Right Clothing
For some of us, dealing with PMS means that the majority of our clothing feels incredibly uncomfortable which is one of the reasons why it’s important to wear clothing that’s going to make you feel better, not worse. For example, consider forgoing any clothing that’s going to put pressure on your abdomen and any that make you feel overly warm. Also, the breasts of some women swell so much that their regular bras become painful to wear, so consider having separate bras that you wear while you’re PMSing and that offer you the proper support.

Get Some Sleep
Sleep is important in general, but it’s even more so when you’re PMSing, however, it’s not exactly easy to do when you feel awful. There are a few things you can do that can make your sleep experience a bit better. The first is to get to bed earlier since it may take you longer than usual to fall asleep. Additionally, consider black-out shades and a sleep mask to block out as much light as possible. You may also want to adjust the temperature considering you may feel warmer than usual.

PMS can be rough and not every woman goes through it in the same way, and even we as individuals can feel it differently from one month to the next. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you have to take it easy. Yes, we have a slew of responsibilities to handle and a lot that needs to get done, but the more you push yourself the more miserable you’re likely to feel and the less you might get done because of it, so be kind to yourself.
