While we’re all usually incredibly busy on a day-to-day basis, there are some days where the amount of things you have to do is just overwhelming. You want to take proper care of your skin, but at the same time, you know it’s going to take time out from your already packed schedule. Don’t worry, you don’t have to skip the skincare routine. The following are some tips that can help you get the perfect skin care routine on your busiest days.
Use a makeup remover
After a long day at work, the last thing you probably want to do is take your makeup off, but going to bed with it on could do not-so-great things for your skin. There are so many products out there you can use to help remove it easily, such as makeup remover wipes, cleansing oil, and micellar cleansing water, so the choice is yours what would be the easiest option for you.
Cleanse your skin
Next up is using a gentle cleanser that’s going to remove any leftover traces of makeup, dirt, and sweat that’s still lingering around. Use one that’s ideal for your skin type, and make sure you get all areas of your face, including on the sides of your nose, your jawline, and your hairline, all of which are areas that could easily be missed.
Use a serum
Considering serums are light, whether you apply it in the morning or at night, you’ll want to apply it after you cleanse your skin. Give it a minute or two to sink in before you move on.
Use eye cream
Eye cream takes only seconds to put on, but it’s worth doing considering the skin around your eyes is one of the first areas of the body to show age in the form of fine lines and wrinkles. You use the eye cream in the morning and at night, but should you decide to use it in the morning, opt for a product that states it can be worn under makeup.
Moisturizing is so important, so even if you’re seconds from running out the door or hopping into bed, take time to put it on. Your skin needs to stay hydrated and protected and moisturizer can help with that. It also helps to seal in all the products you used before it. During the day, opt for a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it – ideally at least SPF 30 – so you have protection from the sun. At night, you’ll want to opt for a night cream which is a bit richer than one you would use throughout the day.
When you’re doing your skincare routine and you’re in a rush, the best thing you can do is get everything lined up so you can easily grab the products when application time comes around. Lastly, while you’re giving each product time to settle in, do anything else you need to do in between – drink coffee, have breakfast, get dressed, etc – so you can get everything done that’s necessary without having to stand around and wait in your bathroom.
